Caring for Your Ring
VILANI rings are selected for their considered design and everyday appeal. With a little care, you can help preserve their appearance and finish over time.
Follow this guide for simple advice on cleaning, storage and caring for your ring's material.
Everyday Care
Although our rings are made from durable materials, they are not immune to scratches, impacts or surface wear.
Remove your ring before heavy lifting, contact sports or activities that could expose it to unnecessary impact or abrasion. Take care when handling heavy objects or working with tools.
Avoid assuming that a hard material cannot scratch or become damaged.
Keep It Looking Its Best
For routine cleaning, use lukewarm water, a small amount of mild soap and a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Rinse carefully and dry thoroughly before wearing.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads and harsh chemicals, which may damage the surface or affect the finish.
If your ring has a stone, special coating, textured surface or other decorative detail, check the product-specific care instructions before cleaning it.
Store with Care
When you're not wearing your ring, keep it in its VILANI presentation box or a separate soft pouch.
Store it away from other jewellery and metal objects to reduce the risk of scratches, knocks and surface damage.
Keep your ring in a dry place when not in use.
Caring for Sterling Silver
925 sterling silver can naturally develop tarnish or a subtle patina over time, particularly when exposed to air, moisture and certain chemicals.
Use a clean silver polishing cloth to help restore its shine. Avoid abrasive products, especially on rings with decorative finishes, stones or surface treatments.
Store your ring in a dry place when you're not wearing it.
Caring for Titanium
Titanium is lightweight and resistant to corrosion, making it a practical material for everyday wear. However, its surface can still become scratched or marked.
Clean your ring with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft cloth, then dry it thoroughly.
Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning materials.
Caring for Tungsten Carbide
Tungsten carbide is known for its hardness and resistance to everyday scratching, but it can still chip or fracture if subjected to a hard impact.
Clean your ring with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft cloth. Dry it thoroughly before wearing.
Avoid dropping the ring onto hard surfaces or exposing it to heavy impacts. Tungsten carbide rings cannot be resized in the same way as many precious-metal rings, so handle and store them carefully.
Protect the Finish
Prolonged or repeated contact with certain chemicals may affect a ring's finish or decorative details.
Where possible, avoid direct contact with:
- Perfume and aftershave
- Chlorine and swimming-pool chemicals
- Household cleaning products
- Strong solvents and other harsh chemicals
Apply fragrances before putting on your ring and allow them to dry.
